Does anyone know…
… what has happened to Chross? His site has been inaccessible since Wednesday. I have tried with three different browsers, all to no avail. 😦 I hope all is well with him and he’ll be back soon.
EDIT: I just noticed that his Spankings of the Week blog turned up on Bonnie’s “Good and Hot” list, so he’s posting. But I still can’t access it. Is it just me, or are others having the same issue? As I’d mentioned, I tried three browsers, I’ve cleared cache and cookies, etc.
By now, most of you have heard about what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT this morning, and if you haven’t, you will. In times when we feel stunned and sick, a voice of reason can be a lifesaver. I read these words on another site, and I am passing them on here:
Be kind. Take care of each other. Love. Mourn and share in the outrage. React. Remember. But however you choose to wrap your brain around today’s tragedy — wrap your arms and your heart around those you love.
I’m going to do that tonight. Have a good weekend, y’all.
I cannot comprehend the tragedy in Newton. I cannot imagine the pain that the parents are experiencing right now.

joey — neither can I. Those poor babies. And how do you explain what happened to the surviving children?

Regarding Chross, I can access the site. Maybe it was just down temporarily… or maybe it's just being stubborn. With regards to th events in Newton, I can't imagine trying to deal with that, or the aftermath. It is a terrible thing.

Anonymous — it's apparently just my computer, as Chross himself contacted me. Frustrating, as I still can't access him. Never had anything like this happen before, and I can access everything else, so I have no answer. As for Newton, I have no answers for that, either. Feeling very sad.

I have been having problems with Blogger on and off for a few days, so it just might be some faulty router somewhere on the net.

Erica, for what it is worth, I cannot access Chross, either. Maybe Angelinos are forbidden access. There are no words for how sad and horrified I feel about the shootings.

I just tried his site from your site list and got through with no problem, Erica. Maybe the trouble is local in regards to you. Do you know of a way to have it checked out?

chross is still accessible to me.And I am mourning with my American friends: turing a school into an insecure place is an assault on the core of a human society. I hope you folks do manage to unite on some form of "meaningful action", as the President called it.

I can get to Chross too, so maybe it's your ISP, or the asteroids, or the Mayans.A 20-year-old idiot with a mental condition, and a gun, the son of one of the teachers he shot. It doesn't get much worse.Hugs,Hermione

Erica, I was able to get Chross's blog. He posted last one on Friday 14th 2012. As for the Newtown, Conn, tragedy, we have to change the 2nd Ammendment in the U.S.A. Constitution about our gun laws. And the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.) will be our biggest obstical to that, because they will fight us tooth and nail. XXX I LUV YA ERICA.

Lily — well, at least I'm not the only one. I can access him from John's computer.Loki — nope, no idea. I've never had an issue with just one site before. I am stymied.MrJ — I hope so too.Hermione — I guess he had mommy issues. But it still doesn't explain why, after shooting her point-blank in the face, he went to school and shot up a bunch of small children. It's grotesque.Six — something needs to change, I agree.

If I had to guess, since two people can't reach the site and (apparently) you are in the same region, it is likely a DNS issue. Erica, I'm going to e-mail you a fix for DNS problems. hopefulyl that'll help.

Early Monday morning and I still can not access Chross but obviously I can access you and also everyone else. I have an adult daughter in the same age range as the young teachers in Newtown. I just had to call her long distance and hear her voice. Life is precious.

Yep, having trouble over here with the waving wheat getting any of Chross's sites to show up, too!I like the quote, Erica, it's the only reasonable response. Very similar to the Fred Rogers quote going around the Web now: "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." To this day, especially in times of "disaster," I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world."

Dave — well, it's good to know it's not just my computer, but I sure would like to know what's going on! "Look for the helpers," indeed. It's crucial to remember the good folks in times like these. They do exist.
