Sorry, kids. Just haven’t had the time to write anything of substance here. I’ve been a little tied up.

(I wish! Sadly, the “tied up” was only a figure of speech.) As is often the case when I’m preparing to go out of town for a few days, I got work — three projects. So I’m hustling to get those done. Tomorrow morning, I have to go to the DMV to renew my license. Figures — they’ve auto-renewed me for the past eight years, but now they need to see me and take a new picture and all that bureaucratic nonsense? Bleah. And then there are all the odds and ends of getting ready — must get a pedi. I haven’t had one in months and my feet look like I’ve been running a marathon barefoot. At least my hair looks OK — I got it cut three weeks ago, and my bangs were too short. Now they’re just right.

This will be the first Shadow Lane party in I can’t remember how long where I have not bought a new dress. But then again, they’re not doing the ballroom event, so it’s not quite as crucial. My girls SpankCake and Alex are going shopping tonight, but I can’t join them, unfortunately; too much stuff to do. But I did buy three new pairs of panties last week. I mean, what’s a spanking party without new panties?

I won’t get my pre-party warm-up, because Steve is busy moving. (sigh) He could have come tomorrow morning for a brief time, but I’ll be at the DMV. I miss him very much. I’m looking forward to when his life will settle back down, and we can return to our times together. That might not be for a while, but at least SL will scratch my various itches for a bit.

Enough of this — must get back to work. Just wanted to let y’all know I’m still among the living.
